Sr. React Native Developer/Engineer
Will likely have to search non-local, nationwide due to there being so much IT demand/competition in the Austin area. If non-local, good possibility cand will get to do first 3 months remotely until established as good fit for team. Avatar will then relocate candidate to office in Austin so he/she can be onsite.
Notes:
React _Native_ experience. This is different that React JS. The former is about mobile development and cross platform (iOS, Android and web) compatibility. The latter is strictly a web framework.
To put a finer point on it, a React Native dev will know React JS. But, a React JS developer will not generally know much about Native development.
In general, I am looking for someone who is demonstrating heavy depth with a language (indicates mastery). After that I would like them to have at least a year in React Native. The ideal language for mastery is, of course, JavaScript. However, it is reasonable that a developer with mastery of another language will be able to grow a year’s worth of ReactNative experience very quickly into mastery (having done it before).
Experience:
- Deep understanding of web AND mobile platform development
- 3+ years React / Redux experience
- 1-3 years React Native experience
- 3+ years Node.js experience
- 3+ years working with MySQL and noSQL databases
- Knowledge of Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines
- Passionate about UX
- SDLC savvy
- Expert with HTML5 and CSS/SASS/Less
- Server-side experience is ideal
- Proven leadership experience preferred
- AWS cert or otherwise preferred
- Azure or the like preferred
- Ability to create and consume RESTful web services and work with remote data via REST and JSON
- Experience working in a Cloud / SaaS environment
- Independent and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Strong work ethic and ability to handle multiple projects at once
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
