Job Summary

Lead the global accounting functions of the Company by ensuring a strong internal control environment, consolidation of accurate accounting records and operations, elimination of intercompany transactions, and the timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP at a consolidated level.  Manage, develop and lead both Corporate and remote accounting teams at various business units.  Manage, develop and communicate consistent financial policies, processes and procedures throughout the Company.

Duties and Responsibilities

•    Provide global accounting leadership and direction ensuring timely and accurate monthly financial reporting in compliance with GAAP.
•    Directly manage the Corporate Accounting team in Georgia. Provide leadership, coaching, direction and growth opportunities to team members.  Responsible for interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning or directing work, appraising performance, and resolving problems.
•    Indirectly lead and provide oversight to the remote accounting teams of the various business units with different levels of team member proficiencies; draw upon and manage external resources when appropriate.
•    Evaluate, maintain, draft, and manage accounting policies, processes and procedures, as well as common and consistent standards of practice for the Company.
•    Indirectly lead and instill accounting discipline and controls in Corporate functions such as Information Systems, Fixed Assets, Treasury and Tax.
•    Coordinate and lead the annual budgeting process and related monthly updates to forecast (outlook).
•    Prepare communications and reporting for the Company’s Board of Directors and its various committees
•    Identify, champion and implement functional accounting process and infrastructure improvements which may include outsourcing and/or a shared services functions; identify synergies and centralize functions, and conversely, decentralize functions where appropriate.
•    Maintain overall responsibility for the financial and budgeting reporting systems to include their selection, implementation, optimization and ongoing management.
•    Oversee preparation of the year-end financial statements and related reports; provide schedules and requested documentation to external auditors, as requested or required. 
•    Maintain appropriate insurance coverages.
•    Participate on/lead various committees and project teams as deemed appropriate to include strategic initiatives, acquisitions, divestitures, and mergers.
•    Maintain an up-to-date knowledgebase and understanding of GAAP, relevant government regulations, standards of practice, technology trends, and the like.
•    Promote an environment of collaboration with internal and external partners as well as with inter-company contacts; continuously learn the business and seek knowledge to provide added support of the business; cultivate strong relationships with organizational leaders and third-party partners; instill and promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.  
•    Other duties as deemed necessary.

Qualification Requirements

Minimum Education:    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field. Master’s degree in Business Administration is preferred.

Minimum Work Experience:    Fifteen (15) years of management experience as an Accountant leading a team of accounting/finance professionals in a business, preferably a global company. Relevant experience in the consumer products manufacturing environment is preferred. Auditing experience is a plus.

License(s) / Certification(s):    Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•    Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) 
•    Knowledge of financial management software (i.e., SAP, BPC).
