  • Divisional (Plant) Controller
  • This position is located in or around Beaver, WV and does offer relocation
    • This role reports to the President of the Business and dotted line to the CFO at HQ office in Chicago.
    • The CFO is looking for a new Plant Controller as the incumbent will be retiring.
    • The CFO is looking for a proactive person that will partner with the Operations team.
    • This is the fastest growing division for the company and products standard products and Customize Capital Equip.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Be responsible for the accounting and control of the division’s product costs, appropriate distribution of labor costs and analysis of invoices, inventory levels, materials and other supporting documentation. 
    • The position is also responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of related systems and procedures to ensure the integrity of the division’s accounting records.
    • Oversee the division’s accounting and costing function, HR and Procurement. 
    • Direct the development of standard product costs including raw materials, purchased parts, direct and indirect labor, and burden to ensure accurate costing of products. 
    • Develop, implement and monitor accounting, cost and financials controls to ensure the safeguarding of assets and provides for adequate use and control of capital. 
    • Aid management decision-making by providing appropriate business council and advisement. 
    •  Participated in Bid & Quotes process.
    • Preparing detailed monthly forecasts for the full year based upon the production drivers and key performance metrics at the facility
    • Leading a weekly review of prior week and month -to-date estimates versus budget and forecast with the plant management team
    • Inventory control and reconciliation, including reviewing or auditing the adherence to cycle count procedures and leading the annual physical inventory
    • Fixed asset control and reconciliation, including conducting the fixed asset physical inventory
    • Management of the capital project process at facility, including the reviewing and approving of capital project requests, identifying obsolescence and project expenses, preparing financial justifications and ensuring timely creation of assets in SAP
    • Preparing economic cost studies for projects concerning new or existing products, manufacturing processes, equipment, or facilities
    • Annually reviewing and auditing of internal control procedures in order to sustain SOX compliance and to manage and minimize financial risk at the facility
    • Preparing and developing the annual plant budget, including developing standards and updating the standards and period expense budgets.
    • Supporting the plant in generating and quantifying cost savings opportunities, and supporting the plant management team in the implementation of cost reduction initiatives
    • Supporting and leading the coordination of all plant internal and external financial and operational audits and addressing any audit findings with plant and divisional leadership
    • Month-end closing responsibilities, including reporting and analyzing variances to budget and forecast for the plant management team and divisional leadership
    • Responding quickly and accurately to customer requests, including special projects and other duties or analysis as requested by plant or divisional leadership
  • Required Education and Experience:
    • 4 year degree in Accounting or Finance
    • 5+ years of Cost Accounting/Plant Controllership related experience.
    • The person should have strong costing and analytical skills
    • MUST have knowledge of Percentage of Completion Accounting.
